Upwood Primary Academy PTA

The PTA is a registered charity made up of a committee of parents and teachers who volunteer their time to organise or help at events. Every parent, carer and teacher is automatically a member of the PTA and are welcome to attend PTA meetings at any time. We are extremely fortunate at Upwood Primary Academy to have a high degree of involvement and commitment from our parents and carers.

WHO’S WHO?

PTA Chair – Mrs Holly Piaggesi

Vice Chair – Mrs Megan Workman

Treasurer – Mrs Kirsty Payne

Secretary – Mrs Emma Smith

The PTA is actively involved in a full programme of educational, social and fundraising activities, from which the school benefit greatly. The PTA raises funds for school, to provide vital extra resources for all the children.

Remember it is YOUR Association, and it can only continue to do all the great things it does if YOU join in – so please do!

In the past year we have succeeded in raising enough funds to purchase 30 iPads and enough headphones for each device, we have supported the school with reading incentives, purchased new curtains for the stage and hampers full of consumables such as pens, pencils, glue sticks & highlighters for each classroom! The PTA also funded the recent visit from M and M Productions, who came in to perform the tale of Robin Hood.

We are currently working with the School Council to consider new initiatives, so any ideas are welcome!
